Cataclysm Patch 4.1 Zul'Aman Preview By Mimiron My name is Stan, I am 19 years old. Currently I am studying at a University. I am the founder of the FB group which posted Cataclysm news since 8/23/09. I am playing WoW since the release of Burning Crusade. I like writing articles regarding Cataclysm. The most time I enjoyed playing was high-end TBC - Sunwell Plateau. |
Zul'Aman Preview
The zone is back! Along with Zul'Gurub, it's now a 5-player dungeon.
This instance was introduced back in patch 2.3.0 intended to be a 10-player dungeon for 70 level characters with its last boss Zul'Jin and of course, home of the legendary Amani War Bear mount, which was removed from the game with the launch of Wrath of the Lich King.
On the screenshot you can see two trolls riding an Amani War Bear, it's identical, to the mount that was obtainable during The Burning Crusade.
Amani Battle Bear
After the countless beggings and crying on the official forums, Blizzard decided to bring the mount back. Although it's a recolour, the mount remains totally identical to its lost brother, the Amani War Bear. Many old-school players who experienced Zul'Aman on level 70 are now complaining, because the mount reminds them of the best times in Warcraft and brings back memories. They have a valid point there, since this mount really required a lot of luck and effort to get and since it was removed from the game, why should it be brought back?
Here is the original Amani War Bear that has been removed from the game.
In this screenshot, you can see the Amani Battle Bear, which will be introduced as a drop in Zul'Aman, with Patch 4.1
Zul'Aman's Map
In 4.1, many maps, even of old zones, have been updated. Zul'Gurub got a new map, so did Zul'Aman. On the picture below, you can see the detailed map of the re-newed heroic instance.
As for the zone itself. Nothing has changed really. The level 70 mobs, were updated to match the current levels and their spells have been made more powerful to compete with their enemies.
The loot includes epics of 353 itemlevel as well as quest chains, for the same itemlevel rewards.

Personally, I really think Blizzard should focus on introducing new content, not only re-introducing old stuff. I mean, those places bring back certain memories and why should the re-introduction destroy them?
Do you remember the countless Kael'thas, Onyxia setbacks? Now we will get Ragnaros back... and what will be next? Perhaps Karazhan ? No, please !
