Hey everyone, patch 1.3 recently arrived on the PTS (Public Testing Server)
and I just want to give you some first hand preview of some of the features
coming to SWTOR in 1.3.
General Features
Server
transfers coming June 12
Yes server transfer is coming out on June
12! You can read
all the details here or read the relevant bits below.
“Therefore, we
made the decision to strictly limit the initial phase of the Character Transfer
Service to only allow transfers from selected groups of origin servers (where
you're moving a character from) to selected individual destination servers
(where you choose to move a character to) based on the player populations of the
origin and destination servers. In some cases, a large number of origin servers
will be eligible to move to a single destination server. In others, very few
origin servers will be transferring to existing high population destination
servers. Remember, the goal here is to push almost every destination server to
an active population that's higher.
There are also some restrictions to this
character transfer process , which will be more fully detailed in a forthcoming
FAQ. For those who have unlocked Legacy abilities, your Legacy will be
transferred to your new server and your unlocks will be available there too. If
you have already unlocked your Legacy on your destination server, the higher
level Legacy will take precedence. For guild members and masters, you will not
be able to transfer your guild as a whole to your new server; instead you will
need to reform it. If you have a guild bank, it will be re-granted to your new
guild on your destination server by Customer Service. This is not an automatic
process and you will have to contact Customer Service directly. If your
transferred character’s name conflicts with an existing name on a destination
server, you will be asked to rename your character. In the case of Legacy names,
unless you have unlocked your Legacy on your destination server, you will need
to rename your Legacy upon transfer (although you may pick the same Legacy name
as on your origin server, if available)”
New Mount for referring a
friend!
You can now get an awesome looking speeder if you refer a
friend and have them sub for a month at least (it is also suppose to be
retroactive).
The new speeder is called Kurtob Alliance, it is a brand new
speeder line with an unique look. It is actually a rank I speeder with 110%
movement speed so level 10s characters can use it if they purchase the legacy
perk. It is also available to all characters on your account.
1.3 introduced a number of legacy features that are character specific (i.e. only unlocked for characters it is purchased on). Please be aware that when it says cumulative, it means that it stacks with previous bonuses! Augment slot/kit system
With 1.3, you can now add augment to virtually any piece of gear, even your matrix cube. The secret lies in those augment kits, which are made by synthweavers, armormech, and armstech exclusively.
Players with these crewskills can go to the trainer and purchase the schematics for these augment kits. These kits requires your usual mats + augment slot components. The components can be obtained by REing crafted items (has to be crafted items that has a chance to crit; mods/adrenals etc that give extra when crit don’t work) of the appropriate level – here is a chart that shows you which level corresponds to which tier of augment slot components.
Here are the mat requirements for synthweavers and armormech
The augment kit once crafted it can be traded or placed on the GTN so if you are not a crafter of these three crew skills, you can still purchase them.
Armed with that augment kit, you need go to one of the item modification stations scattered around on the fleet – Crew Skill section.
Put on the item you want to an add an augment, you will need the augment kit in your inventory and some credits.

Tip for synthweavers looking for the cheapest stuff to craft to RE for augment slot components, try this schematic, available from your trainer. All crafted stuff yield 1 component each time you RE them, despite their quality/slot.
Better target and AoE indicatorI always had trouble knowing what I had targeted or if an AoE is friendly or foe. These changes will make it easier than ever to distinguish them!
Better Target Indicator: Previously to know who you targeted, you get a tiny arrow at the top that was hard to see. Now you have a bigger arrow that is colored differently based on if you target a foe or friend. Better AoE indicator: All friendly AoEs reticles are colored green and all harmful AoEs (from mobs/enemies) are now colored red. In the heat of battle, when multiple people are dropping AoEs, it was hard to distinguish mob’s AoE from your party members. This should no longer be an issue. PvP Features
PvP pets
There are now two pets that can be purchased for 1k ranked warzone commendations and 2 k warzone commendations at the PvP items vendor near the PvP mission terminal. They do however, also require valor rank 70.
Here is a picture of Lobelisk (he is tiny!)
Warzone Expertise adrenals are no longer purchaseable, instead, you now can purchase Warzone Adrenals for 10 Warzone Commendations or biochems can craft it. The schematic for this adrenal costs 75 Warzone Commendations, which isn’t much, but it requires an unique material from the Grade 6 PvP crafting boxes, which costs 1000 Warzone Commendations to purchase and only yield 20-30 of these mats (allowing you only to craft 20-30 of these adrenals). It is much cheaper to purchase them directly from the vendor and get 100 adrenals for 1000 warzone commendations.
Before you ask, the Warzone Adrenals cannot be RE’ed to get a reuseable one.
Free Recruit PvP Gear
There is now a quest level 50 players can get at the PvP Mission terminal that will grant them a free set of PvP Recruit gear set or a token that can be sold for ~ 320k. PvE Features
Group Finder
There is now a group finder in place for Hardmode/normal flashpoints, storymode operations, and various planetary heroics/dailies that can be accessed via this button on the minimap The group finder will reward Black Hole Commendations or Daily Commendations for players who don’t cherry pick and queue for random. Premade groups can also have their group leader queue up for random flashpoints/operations and get also these bonuses.
Once the queue for the flashpoint/operation is ready, it will teleport players to the instance directly.
New weekly to defeat world bosses
You can now pick up a weekly at the PvE mission terminal to kill some world bosses. Rewards are not known atm but you can expect Black Hole Commendations for Priority Targets IV.
- Priority Targets IV – Kill Primal Destroyer on Belsavis, Gargath on Hoth and Nightmare Pilgrim on Voss once (level 50s)
- Priority Targets III – Kill Cartel warbot on Quesh and Snowblind on Hoth (obtained as a level 45)
- Priority Targets I – Kill SD-0 on Coruscant and Subject Alpha on Taris (Republic). (Can be picked up by level 16 and 23 characters)
