Character

Character Classes:
Regnum is designed to allow the player to decide what they want their character to become. Each race has the three main classes. They are warrior, archer, and mage. Once your character reaches level ten, he/she will be able to choose one of two disciplines; these disciplines are split between offensive and defensive disciplines.

They are as follows:

Warrior:
Knight: Defensive discipline. Increases the player's ability to take on damage.
Barbarian: Offensive discipline. Increases the attack that the player gives.

Archer:
Marksman: Offensive discipline. Increases the player's ability to make damaging attacks.
Hunter: Defensive discipline. Allows the player to train a pet and use skills to make a target easier to hit.

Mage:
Warlock: Offensive discipline. Gives the player the ability to cast devastating spells on the target.
Conjurer: Defensive discipline. Allows the player to summon creatures and use defensive spells.

Attributes:
Attributes are the areas that define your character. There are five attributes that will show how strong your character is, how fast the health and mana bar regenerate, and how often you can hit a challenging opponent.

Strength: Strength is an attribute that reflects your characters physical strength.

Intelligence: Intelligence refers to the value and recovery rate of your characters mana (powers) bar.

Dexterity: Dexterity affects the agility and defense of your character.

Concentration: Concentration refers to the ability of a character to focus and ensure a direct hit on the target.

Constitution: Constitution determines how much health your character has, and how fast the health will regenerate.

Armor: To assist you in defending against attacks, you will be able to purchase and equip armor. The type of armor your character will use will be based upon the type of class you choose. Warriors can use breast plates, pauldrons, gloves, helmets, leggings, and boots. Archers use more flexible breast plates, pauldrons, gloves, helmets, leggings, and boots. And mages use tunics and head gear.

You can purchase your armor in the town's stores. You will have to find a merchant who sells your type of armor. Remember that some armor will not be able to be equipped until you reach a certain level, choose a discipline, or get enough money.

Weapons:
These will be the most important items you will own in your adventures. These items enable your character to attack a target. All weapons have different strengths and weakness. If your weapon breaks, you can repair it by taking them to a merchant. You can also purchase new weapons there as well.

Weapons have the same requirements as armor. Your chosen class will decide what types of weapons will be available to you. Warriors are offered the choice of slashing (swords), piercing (spears), or blunt (hammers) weapons. These are all melee weapons and require the player to remain physically close to their target. Archers can use long and short bows (all bows require you to purchase arrows). The bows allow the player to remain a short distance away and attack from afar. The mage uses magical staffs which can be used for close attacks as well as attacks from afar.

All weapons will have sub-discipline, level, and gold requirements as with the armors.

Other abilities

Experience:
As you progress through the world of Regnum, you will be rewarded gold, items, and most importantly, experience. The experience point system allows you to advance your characters progress. When you first start the game, your character will have no experience points, and will have a reflected level of 1. In your first few moments of playing you will find that after you successfully defeat a creature, or complete a quest, you will be awarded experience points. If you look at the top outline of your action bar, you will see a glowing blue/green line. When this line reaches the right edge of your screen, your character will gain a level. Increasing your characters level will increase all of your characters attributes, award you skill points so you can purchase new powers from your trainer, and enable you to use new weapons and armor.

Level cap:
The current level cap in Regnum is 50. Level 50 characters have a unique ability to turn the tide of a battle for a stronghold or castle which are most important.

Creatures

Creature levels are denoted in the game by the color of their name.
The colors do not designate an exact level number but give you an idea of the level range you can expect.

Gray - No Challenge
denotes a creature that does not present a challenge and is considered worthless to kill. These creatures generally yield nothing in terms experience and little if anything in terms of reward.

Light Green - Very Easy
Very little experience and gold reward that may not make it worth your while.

Green - Easy
Better experience and gold will be rewarded. You may want to attack if the creature is in your path but may not be worth diverting your exploring for.

Light Blue - Normal
You will find the experience and gold reward appropriate for the challenge.

Yellow - Above Normal
You will find the experience and reward better than light blue but slightly more challenging to kill.

Orange - Hard
You will find the experience and reward helpful but more challenging to kill. You will want to make sure that your character is at its fullest health for this challenge.

Red - Very Hard
You will find the experience and reward very helpful but most likely requires a party to kill.

Purple - Impossible
You will find the experience and reward extremely helpful but requires a party to attempt to kill and even then most likely will kill your character.

Killing any creature at or above the Yellow level will yield bonus experience. Inexperienced players with poor equipment should target creatures at the "Light Blue" or below level. Experienced players could target "Normal" to "Above Normal" creatures. It will take good equipment and use of powers to attempt creatures with an "Orange" or higher level. These colors will change if you are in a party and the colors will reflect the difficulty for the party.

However, the next few weeks will be very interesting for the US and the European fans of this game ;). Indeed this game kicks as and in my opinion Diablo 3 can't beat Hellgate in any way. Hellgate is definitely an awesome game!

the only reason that its similar to perfect world is because its the same graphic engine. i love this graphic engine because you don't need a high tech alien computer to function the game with amazing visuals! anyway, the ancient civilazations concept is original and cool. i can't wait to try this game!)

its really a great game with its own story and history(there were different Allods games for like, 10 years?) and though it really resembles wow in its design and graphic it surely rivals it
