BABCOCK RANCH PRIVATE STOCK PROFIT PARTNERS
I want to thank everyone that made our 2008 Mare Lease Program a success. However, I realize many more would like to, and need to, earn a profit from their horse business – especially those that would like their showing, training or racing activities to be profitable.
I have been blessed – and just plain lucky – to have accomplished most of my goals in the horse business and to have achieved a degree of financial success doing something for which I am passionate. Nevertheless, most of us eventually realize there is more to “it” than just making more money and accumulating more “success”. Instead we are motivated – at least in part - to help others and to give something back. So if I can help others by showing them how they can better afford to enjoy the pleasures and financial rewards of the equestrian lifestyle, make new friends, AND make some money, well……. I just don’t know how it gets any better than that.
Thus, in keeping with the philosophy that helping others to profit in the horse business builds a stronger industry for everyone, we have built upon the breeding concepts of the Mare Lease and created a new program incorporating showing as well as breeding. Consequently, it is now possible to train and show a performance horse and regardless of its show record, be able to provide a minimum profit of at least 9% with an almost unlimited upside: introducing The Babcock Ranch Private Stock Profit Partners.
As a Babcock Ranch Private Stock Profit Partner, you can now become a Private Partner with me in the horse business and be assured of earning at least 9% from your / our equine activities: showing, breeding, racing, and or trading horses.
Coming from humble beginnings in Canada with no family wealth or other significant sources of income, I have been blessed to build – what some call- “a substantial equine empire” over the last 35 years – and I have been forced to do it almost exclusively from my earnings in the horse business. From an equestrian perspective, if it doesn’t make money, I can’t really afford it. As much as I enjoy them and the lifestyle they afford, I have to constantly remind myself that horses are my business, dogs are my pets. So as a Private Partner with me, you should expect to earn at least a 9% return –MINIMUM- from your / our equestrian activities!
As a Profit Partner, we will make decisions jointly so you can learn how I earn a profit and have consistently done so for more than 35 years. Hopefully you can avoid many of my mistakes. I am willing to share my wealth of equine experience and my private stock in order to share profits with a few like minded “Partners”.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that what worked in the past is not guaranteed to work in the future, so success in the horse business like any other business depends in large part on innovation. Thus, as a Private Partner you will be introduced to proprietary concepts, contacts, strategies and techniques that I am constantly developing and refining in response to an ever evolving equestrian industry and economic conditions.
Another lesson I’ve learned is that the horse business is like any other, it takes money to make money. One of the primary reasons companies fail is insufficient capital. The same is true for those wanting to make money in the horse business; many are undercapitalized for their plans, or have no plans at all.
Therefore, I must place two minimum requirements for potential Private Partners. A Profit Partner requires at least a $200,000 capital contribution, and a desire to make at least a 9% Internal Rate of Return. Everything else is pretty much open for negotiation. Everyone has different equestrian goals and financial objectives, so each partnership (or LLC) shall be unique. I look forward to hearing your ideas, thoughts, and any other ways of how I may be of service.
Happy Trails
