Basic Info

A collective cross-media experience beginning with a massively imagined online game that thrusts you into a post-collapse Earth in about 150 years from now. We put you face-to-face (and weapon-to-weapon!) with our own world's greatest nightmares: genetically modified beasts' altered and mutated humans' technologies beyond imagination - all within the daily struggle for subsistence and survival' in the ruins of the old world, and the promise of the new. We start the game with the Hoover Dam Enclave, an area chosen by the local survivors for its access to unlimited energy, water, as well as its apparent isolation from all major disease centers...

Feature Overview

Feature

A world struggling to emerge from the collapse of civilization... a global collapse brought on by a century and a half of war and plague, environmental disaster and the final death-throes of civilization.

A world changed, evolved, mutated... where remnants of great technologies exist in uneasy balance with primitive skills and strange new powers...A world whose wealth of knowledge lies beneath the dust and ashes of its violent past, buried...

A world whose inhabitants must learn to recover, restore, rebuild, and battle...

A world this rich demands a character-path equally rich.

To achieve that, we unleashed character growth from artificial templates of classes.

You choose and control your character's growth within the game, rather than the game permitting framed or restrictive growth-paths.

In Fallen Earth, a character grows organically, with his or her own understanding of the world and mastery of its dangers. It's not easy - but it is compelling beyond belief.

In addition, your character and his or her features will look sharper and more detailed than in any other games to our knowledge. Polygon counts upwards of 6,000 per character, dozens of hair, facial and skin types, accessories, tatoos, piercings, eye movement, innovative animation allowing characters to move upper and lower bodies independently... Each character created will be completely unique, just like you.

Players can socialize with established groups and affiliations, or create their own rich online community experience within the overall Fallen Earth world. The examples of NPC affiliations shown below are not final production. Come back often as we will update this site throughout 2004.

Start dreaming up your characters, who will become so real when we go live...

Enforcers-

Roots: Military and police forces, first responders and emergency support personnel

Since The Fall: Dedicated to the belief that order and civilization will only be restored and willing to place their weapons and their lives behind that belief, the Enforcers march a narrow and precarious path - balancing between defending order and becoming a dictatorship

CHILDREN OF THE APOCALYPSE: C.H.O.T.A.-

Roots: Anarchists, survivalists, paramilitary militia, radical tax protesters, rebels of society.

Since The Fall: Gathered into a loose confederation, the primal and nomadic CHOTA harass and disrupt attempts to re-build and re-establish society - striking, destroying, and then moving on in search of their next target

Vistas-

Roots: Environmentalists, alternate energy entrepreneurs, seekers of holistic forms of medicine, health and organic food

Since The Fall: Devoted to the preservation of the natural world, the Vista's kept knowledge in plant and herbal medicine alive, expanded research with genetic and agricultural skills essential to survival, but their opposition to the resurrection of advanced synthetic technologies creates tension with those who remember how comfortable things seemingly were - and could be again

Techs-

Roots: Scientists, technologists, professors and researchers in all science fields

Since The Fall: Primarily devoted to maintaining what vestiges of pre-Fall science and technology remain, the Techs are also constantly on the alert for opportunities to rediscover and re-implement the technologies that some say played a part in causing the Fall

Lightbearers-

Roots: Visionaries and followers of spirit paths, faithful devotees of mind powers and healing arts

Since The Fall: Devoting themselves to their vision of bringing Light into the shadows and darkness of the Fallen Earth, the Lightbearers view their path as the only true path, and their mastery of mental and mutational powers makes theirs a faith to be feared as well as followed

Travelers-

Roots: Crime syndicates and cartels, street gangs, secret societies, triads, con artists and thieves

Since The Fall: using their skills and secret networks to create an "underground economy", the Travelers blend in to deceive... and are both a threat to the re-establishment of civilization and providers of otherwise unobtainable goods and service

Misson

In Fallen Earth your mission is nothing less than the rebuilding of the world

- a varied, vast world whose richness is reflected in the variety of missions, and a world whose story is revealed through discoveries made during those missions.

Hire on with a mercenary force to defend an outpost. Mount an expedition in search of a repository of pre-collapse knowledge. Join a hunting party determined to clean out an infestation of mutated beasts and vermin. Strike an alliance with one of the world?s factions - and then defend yourself against other factions.

Start your own homestead town, defend it against all enemies while tailoring the nature of the community to attract commerce. Ride "shotgun" on a caravan delivering supplies to a remote installation. Acquire documents and relics that promise to uncover the mystery behind the fall of civilization.

Flag yourself for PvP combat - if you?re tough enough. Add your efforts to the reclamation of devastated cities. Track down storehouses of ancient weapons. Seek to develop - and master! - mutant abilities. Assemble the resources and technologies necessary to reclaim wildlands from the pestilence and poisons that rendered them uninhabitable. Discover remnants of pre-fall technology and use it to your best advantage.

And more.

Much more - the long series of missions that forms the central arc of Fallen Earth is matched by dozens of self-contained missions, expeditions, assignments, opportunities. Shape your approach to the world of Fallen Earth along the paths that best suit your interests, desires, skills.

In short, the heart of all missions is the heart of the world itself - the struggle to reclaim the Fallen Earth.
