Characters

Paladin

During the turbulent times of the Warring States period, there existed one class of person who had two things most people did not: a rigid sense of morality and justice, and the martial ability to enforce said justice when words failed him. He was the wuxia ('ooh-shyah'), or the Martial Knight, known more formally in English as a Paladin. Few can equal the Paladin in the skills of battle - the tools of his trade are the sword, the dagger, and a mastery of the more combat-oriented elemental disciplines. Because the Paladin has the best defense power of the various character classes, the Paladin inevitably becomes the best human shield in the heat of battle. That is not to say would-be foes should underestimate his offensive capabilities, because to do so means suffering a quick death at the Paladin's hands. Despite his rigorous martial training, the Paladin nevertheless exhibits strong self-control and a deep, abiding sense of honor. He wanders the World of Qin seeking to uproot evil and to teach others the Way of the Warrior - to fight for justice when confronted with profound injustice.

Favored weapons: Long swords, shuang swords

Assassin

Forsaking pride and dignity, the Assassin plies her trade from deep within the shadows. There is no honor or justice, there is only the thrill of the quick kill and the accumulation of power. That is her motive, that is what drives her to pursue such a career. She excels at using bows, concealed weapons, scheming, manipulating and trap building. If there is one rule by which an Assassin lives it is this: Never let the prey escape. Even though she has a low defense power, this is more than compensated for by her high dexterity and her uncanny ability to fight from long-distance. Her superior movement speed contributes significantly to successful sneak attacks and guerilla warfare. An Assassin's work is cruel and inhumane, because she believes that the establishment of a powerful country requires sacrifice.

Favored weapons : Concealed weapons, crossbow bolts

Wizard

The Wizard excels at understanding that which cannot be known by normal people, the Five Elements that guide, influence, and at times dictated the way the world functions. As the elements flow like an invisible river throughout the sum total of existence, the Wizard stands amidst the hidden stream and channels a fraction of it through himself. He is, in short, a conduit for the mysterious elements. His innate understanding of the elements allows him to manipulate them toward his own means. He uses subtlety and finesse to achieve his results. Although his results often lack the subtlety he may have used to bring them about. A Wizard possesses strong magical attack power, especially when attacking targets in a large area. At times, his powers allow him to shed finesse and attack with unequaled brute force on the battlefield, sending massive fireballs spiraling through the enemy ranks or conjuring up supernatural blizzards to suffocate them. Because he has spent his entire life disciplining his mind, the Wizard tends to have a very frail body. As such, he can bring his skill into full play only while under protection of other members of the group.

Favored weapons: Magic staves, clubs

Priest

Like the Wizard, the Priest's business is also magic. However, unlike the aforementioned class, her power comes less from an innate understanding of how the elements work and more from her ancestry. She was born with the sacred blood; at some point in history, the gods touched her family's bloodline, blessing it. Although a Priest is the mouthpiece of the gods, of which there are an innumerable number, it is her ability to divine future events that makes her especially beloved by the various dukes, princes and kings. Because of this, she has always enjoyed a special place amongst the aristocracy. A priest is graced with noble bearing and demeanor and all the other benefits one accrues from having only ever known a life of comfort. When special religious ceremonies are performed, the Priest oversees the sacrifices and rituals. Even though she is not very good at attacks, her talent for channeling divine will to call powerful creatures to her side or to bring the dead back to life makes her an integral member of any adventuring party.

Favored weapons: Any magic instruments.
