“The Brain”（最强大脑） is a Chinese scientific reality and talent show originating in Germany. The show's aim is to find people with exceptional brainpower. This show is produced under Endemol and has been sold to multiple countries in Europe, China, Russia and United States to date. Game show performs such many incredible challenges like placing the 102 model brides and bridegrooms in the correct order based on memory, memorizing the password pictures of 100 new mobile phones only once, and unlocking the chosen two phones, or even finding the exact location in the 3-D sandbox “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” in 15 seconds. Today, this talent show is going to bring us another super surprise with Mixed Reality(MR) technology.
With the help of Fujian NetDragon Websoft company, a new challenge named “Invention of Characters by Cang Jie” will be brought to the show tonight. In this challenge, 1000 Chinese characters will be split into 3D fragments randomly. The contestants will see the virtual objects in the real world by wearing MR goggles. Then they need to recognize which character these fragments are split from in a short time. Well, I never knew we can play Chinese character in this amazing way!
If you still don’t know the difference among VR, AR and MR, just keep reading:
VR: Everything you see is virtual.
AR: You can tell what is real and what is virtual.
MR: You can interact with the virtual in the real, audiences can see in the same time.
The virtual object made by AR device is easy to identify. But if you ever tried MR device, you will find that there is merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualizations where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. This is still a rare technology in current industry. The cooperation between NetDragon Websoft and The Brain this time is the first MR technical solution in Chinese TV show, as well as a great innovation in the world.
What will happen when the super brain meets the most advanced technology? The answer is in the “The Brain” of Jiangsu TV today at 21:10(GMT+8). Don’t miss the show.
