Zhu Xian Online (Celestial Destroyer Online) is another MMO from the makers of Perfect World which ironically is very similar to the other games they have made. From the beginning, its pretty obvious that its just another copy of Perfect World with some changes to it and its suppose to be a brand new game. This works at first but after a while, people expect something new, not more of the same.
I didn't really pay much attention to the story, but its basically you going around to do some minor quests and eventually hitting lvl 15 to do a quest to join a clan. You have to do the quests in order for the next ones to appear otherwise you can't progress. Another feature that was in Perfect World.
The graphics are pretty good. There are nice visual effects, but the character and monster models are pretty bland. The terrain is also not very appealing. If you've seen one game by these guys you've seen them all. There isn't much graphical improvement from their previous games. The effects are really the only thing that actually stands out in the game. Everything else is more of the same. The only plus side is that they didn't recycle character models and monsters from any of their previous games for this (not that I know of anyways).
If you've played Perfect World, you've probably played this game as well. The game is set up in the exact same way so that if you've played any of their previous games before, you can just jump right in and start killing. If this all sounds familiar to you, its because its exactly the same as Perfect World.
Character creation is quite limited. You have a small selection of 7 faces and 7 hairs to mix and match to make up your character. It doesn't really matter much since your head gear ends up replacing your hair unless you choose to turn it off. Your armor will affect the way you look. If people don't turn off their head gear, you pretty much have everyone in the game looking exactly the same minus the face. In other words, character customization sucks.
