The Rings of Orbis role playing game is based on PJ Haarsma's Softwire novels now in bookstores. As each new book arrives, the game will expand by one ring and four planets. The game contains incredible art by Stephan Martiniere (Star Wars, I Robot), Dwayne Harris (Warhammer) and Igor Knesevic (Award winning 3D artist).

While the book takes the point of view of the first human slaves (knudniks) to arrive on the rings, the game takes the point of view of the Citizens. Choose one of your favorite alien races from this story and dominate this virtual world to be the most powerful Citizen on the Rings of Orbis.

Citizen and Chits

Click on the links "Citizen" or "Chits" to manage your property, knudniks and view your levels. The CHITS link along the top of your screen will take you to an inventory of the property you have purchased. From here you can also view your knudniks, stock your own trad ing chamber and edit your trading chamber. Chits are one of the currencies of Orbis. The amount you have will always be displayed on your screen.

Travel

Travel through Orbis 1 is done on the SPACEWAY. Select the symbols in the Spaceway header to be transported to the different buildings on Orbis. To travel off ring, you must click on the SPACEPORT plate. This will launch a drop-down Odat that you can use to take a shuttle to your home planet or visit a neighboring star system. Remember that once you are ¡°off-ring¡± the Spaceway will be unavailable to you. You must use the SPACEPORT to get back to Orbis 1.

The Environments

Clicking on different symbols in the Spaceway or visiting a neighboring planet will bring up different images of Orbis. You must search these maps to uncover the different portals to playing areas within these environments. Use your mouse to trigger the link and then click on it to explore the new area.

Knudniks

They are your primary source of income but remember you must feed them, train them and keep them happy or they will escape. Some knudniks are more valuable than others but they can all be uplinked. Look for new knudniks arriving on Orbis. Every Citizen gets one knudnik when they start. Check your inventory and put him to work.
