Punch Monster has gained a lot of attention within the game industry since it debuted at Gstar last year. After a three-month alpha test running from last December till March 2008, today, NCsoft announced on its game portal www.plaync.co.kr that Punch Monster will launch closed beta at 2:00 p.m. March 26 local time in South Korea. There will be no character wipe when it goes into open beta and the servers will be open from 12:p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day.
As a side-scrolling MMORPG aimed at children and minors, instead of using 2D rendering techniques, Punch Monster introduced depth of field effects based on 3D technology. It features easy access, simple control and children and minors oriented gameplay, but at the same time adults will also find it enjoyable.
