On Feb. 1st, 2008, China based game operator 9You announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Square Enix to operate Cross Gate 2 - Concerto Gate in mainland China and Macau. And it is expected that the game will be officially launched in mainlan China after this summer.
But what about its English Version? Last October, OnNet USA announced that it will bring Concerto Gate to North America through acting as the North American publisher of Concerto Gate under a sublicensing agreement with Excite Japan. But since then, we haven't seen any further informaiton about the English version Concerto Gate. How long will we be kept waiting?
Steparu Concerto Gate Random Boss 4
As a sequel to Cross Gate, Cross Gate 2: Concerto Gate has received a lot of attention from the players since it was announced. It has been officially launched in Japan on July 18th, 2007, and its release in China has now also been confirmed. We really hope that the development work of its English version can get faster.
"I really cannot wait for this game," Player said. "It's Square Enix so you know its gonna be a great gaming experience, and I'm really glad to see this sort of old-school rpg style gameplay in an mmo game. I hope it comes out soon!"
Little Questionnaire
In recent years, Asian countries, particuarly Korea, have produced many hit games which are well received by the players. Normally, these games will release their local language version first, and English-speaking players have to wait long before the English version is out, though some of them will choose to play the game on foreign servers in spite of language obstacles. Their efforts are really admirable, but I wonder whether they can fully taste the essence of the game considering the language challenges they face. As an English speaker, will you choose to wait until the English version is out or choose to play on foreign servers in order to experience the game earlier?
