And with more and more MMOGs come into market, more diversified PVP modes come out. In the past, only free PVP was available and many players joined PVP just for fun. But nowadays, players start PVP for many different purposes, like in order to get a rare equipment, to learn from other players, or to win respect, etc. And PVP topics have become the focus of discussions on many forums.
PVP is an indispensible element in MMOGs. In different types of PVP modes, PVP will have different impact on the PVPer and the PVPed. For example, an MMOG which allows free PVP is not fit for players who love peace. So, PVP mode is one of the important criteria for players to judge whether the MMOG is appealing to them or not.
