As of the time of writing, this game is currently in it?s second phase of Open Beta with nothing too much to rate, but I feel that this is still a good game that deserves to be recognized. This game is based, and takes place, in an old oriental environment, and you?ll notice it as soon as you glance at it.
Story : 6/10 As with all MMOs, there is little story, if any at all. This one does have a small bit of a background to it, but the most you?ll see is in the tutorial. You?re basically one of the greatest mages alive, and save the world from evil spirits by "corrupting" yourself. After that, you seek out an herb that not only purifies your soul, but it also wipes your memory, and any skill you had as well. Cue starting at level 1 in Sentosa.
Gameplay : 9/10 It?s 2D, which can either be a good or bad thing depending on how you like your MMOs, but in this case it actually helps speed up the pace of the game, making for hours of fun before you even know it, though there is still room to improve upon.
There are only three classes to choose from, which isn?t much choice; you?re going to see a lot of the same character several times during your travels. Warriors are your typical hack n? slash, Assassins with their throwing stars and claws, and "Taoist," the games Mage-type. Due to the nature of some classes (ranged, certain status skills, etc) the PVP in this game is relatively unbalanced, but you can?t just make an assassin and expect to win with your poison darts against a warrior.
The monsters this game has to offer are plenty of odd, unique, scary, and sometimes silly, again based on oriental myths and the like.
