Have you ever played Dance Dance Revolution? Dance Mania? Or something that requires a dance pad. Such game was popular during PSX days but it was limited to two player modes. As technology begins to develop, such genre of game is now applied to computers. Instead of dancing it all out, you type it all out and play through the music. Despite of following arrows, you follow horizontal bars that go down the screen. You have 7 keys of the keyboard to be mindful of.
Some of you may think that it is easy to cheat by pressing all the keys altogether, but it¡¯s a bad idea. Together with the horizontal bars that you follow, each key you press corresponds to a tone or a beat. Pressing all the keys will really ruin the music, which makes this game pretty challenging.
With regards to similarities to other games, in terms of graphics, it has a striking similarity with Fairyland. In terms of gameplay, you can¡¯t compare it to any game.
Graphics Cruising through the game, you will notice that the graphics is not highly satisfying. 3D Characters are comparable to Fairyland, a game which has characters that look like candies. The lights and effects on the game are amusing but in some cases annoying when horizontal bars come close together and effects go wild on your screen. I give the graphics a fair score of 6/10.
Sound Perhaps the most annoying music in the game is the starting music. The part of which you choose servers and channels. But other than that, the in-game music collection is highly entertaining. However, you have to remember to press the keys as the game dictates otherwise you¡¯ll ruin your gaming experience. Mastering a song will be a great fulfillment for you. I, myself, dance and press the keys at the same time, when nobody¡¯s looking of course. Sound gets a whopping score of 9/10.
Gameplay It¡¯s fun. It¡¯s musical. It¡¯s easy. Anyone can play it and anyone can enjoy it. There are lots of music to choose from so whether you like Ballad, Classical, Hip hop, or Rock it¡¯s all in there. The in-game tutorial will teach you all you need to know making you very familiar with the game. You don¡¯t have to worry about long boring reading, the tutorial is interactive and fun. Gameplay deserves an 8/10.
Community Good chat system. Unfortunately, once you press enter during a game, all the keys you press gets automatically typed in making it messy. Anyway, player to player interaction ok. It should be ok since it¡¯s a casual game. It¡¯s a fun place to make friends. The Community is hereby given a 8/10 score.
Value Like I said. The gameplay is fun. You¡¯ll never get tired of playing it unless you play it for more than 3 hours in one seating. You can¡¯t master a song at one go so you have to play the song many times over. As time passes by, you get tired and retire for the day. But tomorrow is another day and it¡¯s still great to play with it. Remember that this is a casual game. Until now, every 30 minutes to 1 hour per day, I still play the game. Value gets a rating of 8/10.
Unique feature: One unique feature of course is the type of gameplay. It¡¯s the only game that uses alpha keys on the keyboard to play. Other dancing games so far uses arrow keys.
Overall, this game gets an 8/10.
