Comparison: The game reminded me of Gunbound when I first signed on. The reason being was because you can enter a channel and you are then in the lobby, where players can create games or buy clothing and things for their character at the shop. But the game is different from Gunbound in a lot of ways. First of all, it’s not a turn based shooter like Gunbound. It also does not have nearly as many items for your character as Gunbound, but the game still is being developed after all. It also had a player vs. monster mode, which Gunbound lacks.
First impression: My first impression of the game was that it was, in fact, a cheap knock-off of Gunbound. But I came to realize that it was much different. I thought it was a cheesy game that was going to be boring, but in reality it was actually kind of fun. It does have some frame rate lag issues, so it can be annoying at times. The game was fun, but quite repetitive. And the player vs. player system was just lacking something in my opinion.
Graphics: 8 The graphics were alright, especially for a game so little into the development stage. But I feel they rushed the graphics along by providing these graphics in the beta stage the game is in. The reason being is because they can cause some frame rate lag, especially when those 40+ monster spawns or the boss monster spawns happen. I think they should have spent more time in other areas, instead of developing the graphics so much. But the graphics were good, and they were very fun and childish, instead of dark and gory, so the game is fun for all ages.
Sounds: 6 I found the sound effects and background music kind of annoying. I found myself turning it off and listening to music of my own. I guess I’m just not a fan of that type of music though, but it did go with the theme of the game. It just was not my style though and I think it kind of ruined the game. I thought the noises the characters made sometimes were kind of funny though, and found those entertaining.
Gameplay: 7 I did not see a way to change the controls of the game at any point while playing, but that would come in handy because I really did not like them. One thing I did like is the click to shoot or attack, it made it very unstable while firing which added difficulty to the simple missions the game offers. The game was pretty fun, but it is not the type of game you would download to play for hours and hours. It is more along the lines of one of those games you download to play for an hour or so a day, if even that much. It is more of a spare time game then a full time game like so many other titles. Especially since your level does very little for you, so there really is not an advantage being level 60 or level 25.
Community: 5 The community in a game is always a huge part when I rate it, and in this game it seemed like there was not even a community. Out of hundreds of games I played, in the majority of them people rarely talked. I saw talking only in player vs. player rooms, never in the monster hunting rooms. The lobby was also pretty empty of chat, and it just made the game very dull and boring. What fun is it to just play a game without friends playing with you or even talking to other players? If you do not have a friend playing with you to chat with, this game gets boring because of the dull community. The game also lacks a guild system at this stage of development, which really brings it down. There is hardly any competition in the game or any reason to level up. The game is just something without a point to do in your spare time when you are bored. Overall, the community was dull, boring, and inactive. It is strongly needed in this game, but it is just not there.
Value: 7 This is a fun game and all, but it is just not something that will keep you entertained for long. The gameplay is fairly simple and easy to figure out, but it is also repetitive and lacks any sort of competition between players. Whether it is competitive player vs. player, or competitive grinding to reach the highest level the fasting, this game did not have it. Being level 60, people hardly even noticed my level since it does not even matter. When you are a high level, you still play with level 1s and 2s because they are almost just as strong.
Personal Rating:
Overall Rating: The game shows great potential as it reaches further in its development, but right now I would not even bother playing it.
