Ship

The ships in Bounty Bay Online are modelled after real ships from the 14th to 16th century. We paid great detail to those models, so that every ship resembles the original in its features and properties. That means that a merchant ship won¡ät ever become a good battleship and a warship won¡ät be able to carry as much cargo as a merchant ship can. Both ship types won¡ät ever be as fast as an explorer ship.
Basically there are three ship types in Bounty Bay Online:

The Explorer Class Has an average cargo capacity and armament. It is the fastest ship class in Bounty Bay Online.

The Merchant Class Has by far the largest capacity for goods of any kind. Disadvantages of this class are weak armament, the weak hull and sails that are very vulnerable against enemy fire.

The Warship Class Has the largest firepower of all ship classes and because of the strong hull and sails is this ship class the master of the seas. Because of the large size and heavy armament, warships are very slow and not very agile. Additionally, the cargo capacity is relatively small and you can only carry very sailors, food or ammunition.

The number of the sailors the captain has chartered is directly responsible for the speed of the ship. The more sailors your ship has, the faster it can travel. But every sailor needs food, so you need to plan ahead and carry enough food for your sailors depending of the lenght of your voyage.
If the number of sailors on your ship reaches zero, your ship returns to the last port it has visited. The number of sailors can sink because of: Storms, seabattles, expeditions, food shortages.
You can hire new sailors in taverns oder at the harbour master.
